Speaking languages means understanding one another.
Translation means putting into the target language not just individual words but the text as a whole with its underlying concept. Translators should therefore, we feel, always work into their own native languages because only in one’s native language does one have the right touch and sensitivity. All the translators used by apoint translations are suitably qualified and all work into their respective native languages.
For quality assurance purposes we use the computer-aided translation suite SDL Trados Studio 2009 and MultiTerm. These CAT resources help us ensure uniform terminology both in the individual text and in any subsequent translations of similar subjects.
Apoint translations also provides certified translations – but only for texts from French, English, or Dutch into German – and valid only in Switzerland. Many authorities and education institutions require certified translations of academic diplomas, references and testimonials, or official documents such as birth or marriage certificates. In such cases the translator can attest that the target language translation accurately reflects the form and content of the original source document. The translator’s signature is stamped and certified by an authorized official.
